During a Padi Instructor Development Course (IDC) you need a time for yourself, not thinking about the upcoming IE, not thinking about physics, etc. That’s why the candidates had a half day work at day number 8.
The day was Rescue day, all the rescue skills were reviewed, and all IDC candidates saw the demonstrations of the PADI Course Director and his PADI IDC Staff Instructor. After the demos it was time to practice the skills themselves and show us demonstration quality.
Surprisingly the candidates got an assignment, a Confined Open water Assignment. In 15 minutes they had to prepare a Confined Open Water presentation based on what they saw before, one of the rescue skills.
All went well. The day was over at 12.30 and all had time to go to the beach, reading a book, or fun diving, like what the Course Director did.
